Hey everyone, I'm having issues with the mapping of my steering wheel control buttons. I've installed an aftermarket stereo (Kenwood DDX9903S) with an Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel control module. The module was installed with the following wires as per the instructions:

The connector which the instructions are referring to is the far right one with the two yellow wires (yellow/black & yellow/red) that plugs into the back of the stock head unit:

As per the instructions, the yellow/black wire was wired into chassis ground with the rest of the stereo harness, and the yellow/red wire was wired into the grey/red wire on the ASWC-1 harness. The rest of the wires for the stereo and ASWC-1 were wired as instructed.

The steering wheel controls are working somewhat, but the buttons appear to be mapped incorrectly. The volume up button which is used during the ASWC-1 setup process is mapped correctly and works as it should. The rest of the buttons are mapped as follows:
Volume Down: Mute
Seek Up: Preset up
Middle Button (unknown original function): Seek Up
Seek Down: Volume Down

I've tried remapping the buttons by hooking up the module to my laptop and running the Axxess setup software, but it does not let you reprogram either of the volume buttons. Due to the steering controls being a resistive based circuit, I believe that the problem resides with the module reading incorrect resistance values from the circuit. Does anyone have any advice on solving this issue? Here are the wiring diagrams for my truck for reference:
