Hi everyone,

I've searched and searched and now I have a question...

Does anyone have pictures/experiences/etc. with removing the plastic rail liner on the sides of the bed and on the tailgate and replacing it with spray in bed liner?

I'm sure I could take it all apart and see what I see but in an effort to save time I figure I'd ask. I've seen many pictures with the tailgates removed and spray in liner, but I'd like to keep my tailgate if I do it.

Biggest concern from the way it is put on there is the tailgate latch handle and how the spray in liner would go around it since the latch pieces comes up to the top of the tailgate rail.

Any info is appreciated, thanks.

plink, i had a rhino liner sprayed into my bed a long time ago (i can't even remember where the pictures are) but i've loved it ever since. i highly recommend it. i believe i paid $400 for the whole deal including over the rails. they removed the tailgate latch surround and then reinstalled it, looks very good this way. the rhino has proven itself time and time again in my truck, it takes plenty of abuse and i can't say one negative thing about it. it's not quite as fresh looking as it was but it's not bad.

As far as the tailgate they would just spray right up to the plastic. Everything is on there with 3M double sided tape so if you are going to do it make sure you don't want those pieces anymore. I heated mine up to losin up the tape but they still deformed. I didn't go over the rail tho, I think it looks cleaner without.

Thanks for the responses,

HKY,

Could you hook up some pics for me? I looked at your website in your sig and you have all those pics of cars and trucks... but not yours?

Devious,

Thank you for the info about the double sticky tape. So you got all the adhesive off with a heat gun? I'd think they'd have to spray at least the tops of the rails to cover any residue. Pics if ya can.

Thanks again,

Not the best pic but gives you a general idea. I got mine done with Line-X. Pretty popular brand and I've been nothing but happy with it. Beats the halfa$$ drop in liner.
