Why do ppl replace plugs with new instead of cleaning old plugs?
At $15 a plug for iridiums on a 08 im considerin my options.

If wear is only to the external of the plug am i missin something?

The plugs are a bi!tch to get to on the V6 so if you're in there change them. Second point is they are good for 105,000 miles so even a bit early, say 100,000 miles they have done their job and deserve to be changed.

Are you sure you know how a sparkplug works?

In simple terms the arc between the point and the arm causes extreme heat and causes both parts to breakdown. This is why the gap opens and if it increases too much, you start to have mis-fire issues. The wear is more internal then you think. People are not just replacing them because they look dirty or anything like that.

The plugs are also good for 100k but to be on the safe side, I would replace around 75k.
