This might sound stupid but since i have oversized tires. Can you still use the factory spare tire under the bed if something happens to one of my tires. Safe to ride that one tire would be a different size then the other three?

Thanks

I was told w/my lift it will work but only in the rear.
So if you flat out up front, switch a rear forward and put stock in rear to get to the tire shop.

It would be better then driving on the flat tire and rim but it isn't ideal. You should really invest in a proper spare. This is one of the most overlooked things when lifting a vehicle.

The key to remember thou is that you should not run the spare on the rear axle since it will cause the smaller tire to spin more and if it is off enough, it will cause driving issues. Also, if you are 4wd, running the spare on the front also causes issues with the diff even thou the 4wd may not be engaged.

Overall its not ideal but is doable for short distances.

x2

Have seen it done both ways on frontiers.. One was stock spare put on a truck with 33s on it and was driven that way a few hundreded miles to get home. The other one was a frontier with stock tired that had already gotten a flat and got his 2nd flat for the trip and we put my 33 inch spare on his truck both time we rotated the tired so the odd size was in the front.

but getting a full size spare is important your best bet is just find a used tire so your not speending alot of money on a spare you hope to never use. My spare was a tire with about %10 tread left that one of my budies was pulling off his truck.

And thats the way to be, good deal

If you go to the used tire shops they will always give you a decent deal for trading in your stock for a used tire your size, just a little cheaper is all

whats the biggest tire size you can put under the truck where the spare goes? I just put 285/70/17 size tires on my truck and I need/want to put the same size tire on the spare tire just in case I get a flat tire.
