Anyone here have a simple way to a simple way to secure a 33" spare tire on the bed? I am going on a little wheeling trip this weekend and I wanted to take my new spare wheel/tire. I will soon order the dephep tire carrier but until then I just wanted a simple way to secure my tire for this one trip. Thanks

Or just get clever with some ratchet straps. Any particular reason you want it in the bed? The stock spot will hold a 33 just fine

I'd look in to running a threaded rod in to a Unistrut spring nut. a fender washer and a nut to secure it to the rail and then a washer and a wing nut to secure the spare to the threaded rod.

Similar to how I did these eye bolts. Swap out the eye bolts for threaded rod of the proper length and blammo. Mounted.

Thanks.. I got this little set up. I'll just need to grind the spring nut down a bit so it could fit the bottom utilitrac.

It's just for an easier acess if i need to use it and to have two spares. I know the possibility of needing both is really low but it doesn't hurt to be extra secure.

I found it cheaper somewhere else I think when I bought it a cpl years ago, but this is what I use Spare Tire Buddy | Titan Tanks
Thanks for the ideas and nice write up Nethervia but im just looking for something simple and fast before the weekend and I dont have much time to build anything due to school and work. It is great to have the different options and ideas in one thread.
