I have a pioneer 6700bs head unit. I need to know what would be the best speakers to go with as far as the ohm 2 or 4. I cant see anywhere on the box what the head unit is. What should I do and what would some of yall recommend as far as clarity and loudness goes?

According to Crutchfield, your receiver is rated for 4 ohm speakers, although if you set the rear channels to Subwoofer Mode, you can connect a single 2-ohm subwoofer to one of the two rear channel outputs (leaving the other channel unconnected).

They don't make any mention of using 2 ohm speakers for the other channels, so that's probably a no-no.

4 ohm speakers sound just as good as their 2 ohm counterparts.

You might check the Audio/Video Forum for more info.

Go listen to as many speakers as you can IN PERSON. What appeals to you soundwise is most important. Vehicles have lousy acoustics due to dimensional angles and a variety of materials ranging from glass to upholstery/carpet to plastic.
DIYMobile.com is a great resource for opinions and research.

Just my opinion as a sound quality SQ~audiophile: I like silk tweeters as opposed to metallic. They deliver smooth highs with far less listening fatigue. A subwoofer, even a small sealed one will fill out the sound range. A decent amp(s) will power it all with clean watts.
