the past few days its been realy realy cold and when i go to start my truck it sounds like a belt slippin, but its only done it this year it happened 3 times and only in the morning. Any ideas?

check the belt and determine if its worn or needs replacing. it should be tight, but it might have stretched and/or be worn (cracks, etc.) and need replacing.

you could also pick up some belt dressing and try a little of that.

thanks man, i checked the belt 2 weeks ago when i changed my oil and it seemed fine but the cold weather might have something to do with it ill check it again and let ya'll know.

no problem. i actually had to retighten mine recently as well also.

mine slips bad in the cold. the belt expands when its cold increasing the chance of slippage. when the engine is good and warmed up it shouldnt slip. belt dressing helps very little but if it only slips a little on initial start up and in high rpms id give the dressing a shot.
