I went out to check my tires Monday and noticed that someone hit my truck. :crikey: I now have a nice dent and scrapes in the driver's door. I guess it happened while I was at a friend's house. I have no idea who hit me.

Do any of yall from the Jacksonville, Orange Park FL area know of a good body shop. I have already gotten one estimate from a local dealer that has done some work for me before. Not exactly the Christmas present I was wishing for. :(:(

Do you have uninsured motorist coverage? That repair is going to amount to quiet a bit depending on if the skin has to be replaced and the fender and rear door have to be blended. With all the R&I operations the repair is going to be around $1000 to $2000 depending on the quality of the shop you use and their labor rates. Anyhow I would file a um claim for that and go from there. Don’t be afraid of your insurance companies "preferred shops." Those shops are preferred for a reason. If you do decide to file feel free to hit me up if you have any questions

wow that blows... GL getting it fixed - it doesn't look like it oil canned the skin on the door so they'll probably pull it out, smooth and blend.... still look ing at 1500 bucks I would guess

Yea, I'd be agrivated too.
but I also see it as "its a truck", dents are gonna happen. I have several door dings on the bed of my truck from people at stores hitting my truck.
My wife's X got its first door ding the first trip to walmart. people dont care as long as they dont get caught, and even if you do catch them, what are you gonna do?

It's HIS truck though. Dents do happen but I'd rather do the denting myself on my truck.

My brother had a guy open his door into the side of his blemish FREE car. He said something to the guy who was an a-hole by his response. The guy mouthed off some more and my brother gave him two choices either give him his information or he'd let the guy go and call in a hit and run. The guy decided to be tough and after the cop showed up he made him provide his insurance info and my brother had him pay to repair and paint the whole panel. Why should somebody damage your posession no matter how minor and not be responsible? This is why I park way out in the boonies.

Thanks for the responses. It does suck that someone would hit a parked truck and think nothing of it. I mean this isn't a door ding, its a drive your vehicle into mine dent and scrape. I am going to look into filing insurance but I don't want jacked up premiums because of some other idiot's mistake. We'll see how the quotes stack up and go from there.

thats too bad man :( there's a special place in hell for people that do that.

I don't think that would cost too much to repair. Too bad you aren't in Wa st. I got a buddy that would probably do that for $350.

Some guy in a Walmart parking lot got my truck about a year ago, I was PO'd and called the cops. The cop went into Walmart, looked at the video, came back out and said he'll have him in a minute. Got the owner's name over the radio and called him out from shopping. The guy said he "didn't notice" he had slammed into my truck while parking his. Dirty rotten :censor:!

Man I hate that happened to you. Hopefully you can get a good deal on the repair.
People have no scruples or sense of responsibility anymore!
Example: Just a few days ago I was visiting my Dad, and we got T-boned in his Cadillac going through an intersection. She was going in excess of 60 mph and ran the red light. Hit us so hard her tiny PT Cruiser knocked the passenger wheels of the 5,500 pound Caddy off the ground (according to witnesses) and spun the car 180 degrees. She never saw us or the light, and hit my side with such force it ripped me out of my seatbelt and knocked me into the driver's side on top of my Dad. When the Caddy spun, it clipped a Mercedes SUV going the other way and knocked it off the road. NOW, with all this mayhem, and Dad and I being carried out of the car by the 7 witnesses that were in the corner parking lot, this idiot gets out of her car and starts shouting "It's not my fault, It's not my fault!! My light was green!" The witnesses and cop begged to disagree and they jumped on her like they were going to kill her!
I mean, that's the most blatant bit of 'responsibility-shunning' I've seen in a long time. But that's just the way it is today. No one hones up anymore.

Hope you and you Dad are ok after that. Glad there were witnesses who were willing to take a side, most won't these days.
