There are actually three styles of first gen tailgate handles. There's the ones with no hump/bulge on the gate, a lot like the HB. Then you had the ones with hump/bulge and the word NISSAN moulded into it, and then you have the ones with the hump/bulge and the chrome emblem. FYI

Yeah I couldn't get the moulded one anymore from Nissan when I broke mine for the umpteenth time, I couldn't get the epoxy to hold any more. I would have just swapped over the pull handle but I broke the surround taking it off the last time.

I tried Rock Auto but did not come up with a part for it.

It looks like it is the same as the broken one I kept using epoxy on. Try it and find out for the rest of us.

Trust me, if I had found that I would have been all over it. Instead I had to buy the new surround and the emblem.

Well it appears that I threw away the old housing. I thought I kept it. I can take mine apart if you need it me to. it's not that hard to do. Let me know.
