welp, finally tackling the snorkel today...

already wishing i didnt dive into it, its a beotch getting that fender resonator out

good luck buddy, remember measure 10x... cut once. i heard a good story about brad (RedX) installing his snorkle once... apparently they had it all measured out and taped off. brad just couldn't bring himself to make the first cut. someone said "hey what's that" and pointed off in the distance away from the truck. everyone turned to look and while they did the guy made the first cut real quick. after that, brad was like "oh well, too late now, let's do this!" :laugh:

ive measured a ton, but the template ARB sent me was wrong... TWICE so now im on the 3rd revised template... which he reassured me itll be ok... but im crossing my fingers

btw, best customer service ever goes to ARB, i bought it used and these guys bent over backwards for me, the director of sales even gave me his cell number in case i run into a snag, great guys

Once you get over the idea of put a hole in your fender it is actually a easy install.

ok so you have your intake higher hindering the ability for hydro lock...but what about your ECU and every other electrical component?

Having a snorkel does not mean you can drive in water to just bellow the level of the new air intake opening. However when water would splash into the intake at a certain water level... now your motor wont suck in water at that level when it would otherwise splash into the intake.

I think they are more usefull fore our diesels in Europ. But you guy's use them the most, they simply look good.

the install went pretty well actually, no real hiccups except for getting the damn splash guard off... pain in the ***

heres pics... itll be fully functional once i get my volant

btw, i have the super dooper 3rd time revised template from ARB, it fit perfectly and made the install a breeze
