Anyone ever take a tour of the Smyrna Nissan Plant?
I'm passing through there next week on my way to California and trying to get a tour for 10JUN10.

Yes I did a few years ago, enjoyed it. You'll have to get a reservation, back then it took a couple weeks to get a tour date so hope it works out for you.

I did it back in the 80's (yes, I'm an old fart). From what I recall, it was a good tour, but I would recommend the Corvette plant and museum tour over it. It's just North of Nashville in Bowling Green, KY. There's nothing better than seeing every Corvette tearing up the dyno there just prior to being shipped for dealer delivery.

I've been to the Nissan engine museum and the Nissan Global HQ in Yokohama. I want to see the production floor.

Yes I did in July 05. It was nice, they drive you around in trollys, takes about a half
hour. Hugh place !

A few of us from TUNFS took a tour the summer of 2006. It's really something to see. I've worked in a factory but the Nissan Plant is top dog to me. Well worth the trip.

My wife was in Nashville for school for a year and a half (6-7yrs ago), wish I would have gone and taken a tour when she was there. Then again, I was typically there on weekends. I did make it to Bowling Green for the Corvette Museum, but not the factory tour as it was a weekend as well. That was awesome. Might be going back to Nashville this summer, and if so, I will have to try to make it down there.

I am on the tour for this Thursday at 1300.
According to the rep I spoke with, it is 1.5 hours long.

No cameras or cell phones allowed. I'll take some outside.

So I get in at 9pm. There is some Country music awards, basketball competition and some crap called Bonaroo. There are no rooms for like a 30 mile radius.
I've been driving for over 11 hours and I'm incredibly pissed off.
No rooms at the local National Guard base.
Finally, I find and Air Force base about 40 minutes from the Nissan facility.

Took the tour. It was like something out of The Terminator, like the Skynet factory with all the robots.
I did see V8 engines there. I thought they were I4's. That plant does not install V8's into any of those cars. When I inquired, they acted like they knew nothing. Said they may be for a new production run.
