Hey,
has anyone changed the front and/ or rear shocks on thier 2000-2004 xterra or frontier in order to get a SMOOTHER ride?

My dad has an X and the bouncy/ hard suspension is too aggressive for him.

The X has about 25000 miles on it now.

4x4
3.3 V6
base model

Thanks.

tbars don't offer the greatest ride. i don't thing anyone makes anything softer than stock, and even if there was anything, the difference would be minimal. there is not a whole lot of adjustability in those things.
perhaps he is driving the wrong vehicle.

a higher spring rate will equal a rougher ride.

its not the shock, its the spring. the tbar acts as the spring. a softer shock is not going to dampen the compression very well, and a harder shock is going to lead to a harsher ride. alot of people like the stiffer ride and think it rides better, so don't confuse it with a more 'comfortable' ride when researching.

its a little bit of a compromise, but you could take a few lbs of air out of the tires.

good to know ^^^^

I will try the tire thing first, but would it really make that much of a difference?
