Looking for a lightweight winch w/ synthetic rope to ease off the front end load. Smittybilt XRC8 Comp 8000lb vs Rugged Ridge 8500lb w/ sythetic. Both are priced around $500 and weight approximately 55-60lb. I'm not looking to do any hardcore offroading, just caouple fo trips /year to RC and forked river, no rock crawling of any sort, mostly mud/forest trails.

Anybody is running one of these?

those are both a little light for the frontier as far as pulling power. rocks you dont need as much power as you do in mud as mud can suck a rig in fast. I'd look at the Summit or T-max winched both built by Ramsey I think. A winch is the last place you want to skimp when buying

Thanks for the great picture, do you keep your winch in all year round? Any winch servicing required at all (greasing, etc)?

its only been on my truck about 2 months or so and for me to get it off I have to remove my bumper.I havent serviced anything yet
