Here is my suggestion, I bought mine on the Amazon.com site..It was great deal, I bought the 9007SU (ULTRA) 2 pk for about $35 a couple of months ago..
I just looked it up, they have the 9007SU for $27.65 new..
If you go, just enter Sylvania Silverstar 9007SU in the search..Good Luck

wrong ultras are much brighter. i dont see how ppl say they are the same. alot whiter light
Maybe because you haven't compared them side-side?? I've ran the Silverstar Ultra in one headlight and the Silverstar in the other because of replacing a burnt out Ultra... The output results ARE the same... If you're seeing a difference it's probably because you're looking for it... Anyone else driving or oncoming would not likely be able to tell the difference unless you said something... Try running one of each on the same vehicle for a week or two then let us know how different they are....

Also, I've changed out all 4 burned out Ultras on 2 vehicles in the last two years and have yet to change out a regular Silverstar...

i have swithed from silverstars to ultras in the same night. pointed up to my garage both lights. and the ultras were significantly brighter.

I changed to the Ultras about a year ago. I like them a lot better than my stock lights. I bought them when there was a rebate on them so they were a good deal.

hid kits in projectors = poor light distribution and illegal.
Why put them in projectors?? They work better in the OEM housings and they are perfectly legal here either way as long as they're aimed down low enough to not glare oncoming traffic... Most US state laws are available online and anyone building a street-legal offroad capable rig should read up on them...

well, here is where the internet is not necessarily a good thing. getting away with them and perfectly legal are pretty far apart. this is really bad information. nonetheless, last time i looked google was still working. have a look and come back and tell us how many states allow retrofit HID bulbs in halogen projectors.

here's a good place to start (you need to register): HID Retrofit Parts Projectors Ballasts D2S Bulbs

and here is the basics:

HID kits are illegal in the USA because of DOT says so. Period.

Good or bad, we start from there.

Standard 108 says that you can not put a HID bulb in an headlight which was meant for a halogen housing. One reflector is made for a thin strip of tungsten, and the other an arc tube which is round. The modern free form reflector/projector is designed to a tight enough standard that even if the arc tube is in the exact same spot as filament bulb, there will be stray light, hot spots etc... That is their reasoning, and we do not debate that because they make the laws.

What this means for you is that HID Kits are a black market. DOT will shut down any US importer of HID kits large enough to be worth the effort. They have ruled repeatedly that "off road" or "show only" kits are still illegal, you MUST have a valid "on road" use in order to legally import a product for US vehicles.

What ends up happening is you have literally thousands of different manufacturers producing kits for a limited time, changing names, brands products etc... may be the same company, may not be, but that limits your recourse if the kit goes bad etc... typically 6 months is the limit you will see a new brand on the market.

HIDs in halogen housings are SO inconsiderate. I HATE when they come down the road with their scattered blue light blinding oncoming drivers. All they care about is that THEY can see the road and that they look cool.
