hey all,

FINALLY got my Shrockworks rear dif. cover and got a question for anyone who has it:

when you installed it did the stock cover leak (says it MAY in the instruction manual) ?

i want/need to be prepped in case it does so i need to know if i should go out & buy dif. oil before the install !

since i got mine in silver i need to go and get some stainless bolts because the ones they sent will look like sh*t against the cover !

thanks for the help

when doing the cover its not a bad idea to take off the stock one and put new oil in it. when doing that new gasket and some RTV shouldn't have any leaks.
thanks!

please forgive the ignorance but gasket & RTV?

do i need to buy a new gasket and i assume RTV is the fluid ?

the instructions recommend to use "the right stuff" synthetic stuff ?

thanks again
how long did it take you to get it?
deleted my email but just looked at my bank account:

my card was billed on 2/19 and got it YESTERDAY = 18 days !

first order with them so not sure if that is normal or not but i did get it powder-coated so not sure whether that had something to do with it

still waiting on my autovation pedal set that was ordered @ the same time too :censor:
thanks!

RTV is a silicone (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) you would use this sparingly on the gasket to assist in the sealing process.

BTW - I did install their diff cover for the C200 and did not crack the seal. Since you are removing all the bolts from the cover it is possible that some leaking will occur, but in my case this was very minimal a couple drops at most.
Congrats!

There shouldn't be any need to pull the cover; since you're under there I'd change the diff. oil...
Pull the drain plug on the bottom of the housing to make a small stinky mess.
Stinky?? Naw, gotta love the smell of gear oil in the morning. Speaking of gear oil. Whats recommended oil for the c200, as im at 31k and due for the change.
Has anyone taken a reading with a non contact thermometer to see if this raised the internal temperature? There were people getting hassled for having billet grills on trucks claiming they impeded airflow so this could give dealers something to b!tch about too.
