So I got a Titan swap kit from PRG. Will do another thread on that once I get everything worked out with Greg. Anyway, the shop specializes in off road builds for Toyotas but said they would do my install. They were pretty cool guys. Was a pain in the *** to get some parts I wasn't sent, but they were patient and got it all installed just in time for my Mojave Road trip. Truck did well on the trip, ran it fairly hard but not too crazy and when I get home I notice oil leaking from the differential. The diff was the only used part for this kit, all else new. The axle was sitting in there loose and I could move it back and forth with my hand. Reading a little on the Titan forums this seems to have been a problem with the Titan axles with the older differential, which I'm 90% sure I have. Was used on Ebay. So of course, I take it back to this shop figuring they will fix it at no cost since they installed it.

They are now getting a C-clip for the axle to try to get it to stay in that way. From what I can gather (I"m no mechanic to say the least) is that the C-clip is a standard part for the Titan axles and seems like they just missed that. Long story, not too long is they are trying to charge me for the labor to get the C-clips on there in addition to the money I've already paid. Should they be doing it free? Also should I just bite the bullet now and get the newer 3 rib diff, if I can confirm I have the old 2 rib diff? Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated as I will be picking up the truck in the morning. .

So I ended up just getting a new Titan diff. Everything I read on the Titan forums made me realize a new C-clip was just a temporary fix. New diff was 1700... got refunded in full for the other used diff. Shop only charged me 240 in labor to swap out the diff and fill it with gear oil. Still trying to get in contact with Greg at PRG going on 2 weeks now..... trying to swap a few things out to get it right. Will keep trying.
