I hear that the potentiometer is the problem with the fuel sending units, because it get corrosion on it or something. I was thinking, what if we took the unit out of the tank and used one of those gold or silver plating kits that use electoplating to rub on material? This would make corrosion resistant contacts.

What does one of those kits cost?

I am just wondering if it is cost effective.
