So I sat in an 08 titan today with leather captain chairs and i REALLY like them, so I started looking into seat swaps. I only found 1 thread that answered any questions but also raised some more...

From what I found the bottom (butt) part will bolt to the frontier frame if you drill out some rivets? Or it just bolts in. The back part can work by welding the titan piece where the frontiers was.

Someone also said the whole titan seat assembly can be welded to the frontier track, which sounds easier and more straight forward to me.

HOWEVER, this supposedly won't work with captain chairs because they're too big? I say supposedly because there was no proof it will or won't in the thread and I haven't measured anything myself...yet...

Does anyone have any info on this?

I'm going to measure my truck this weekend and the titan on monday

Finally got em measured, everything looks the same besides the width of the back portion of the seats and how they mount to the floor. The track width is the same however. Also the hinges for the back portion are the same width so the seats just wider from extra cushioning

The titan back portion is 1" wider than the frontier, I think there's enough room in the frontier for it.

The biggest problem I see is the arm rest and the frontier center console...

Don't have the funds for seats yet. Also got to thinking minivans might have seats that fit too. They're all leather, power, and have an armrest. Gonna check into them too

Does anyone have any other suggestions for vehicles with seats that might fit? The main problem is finding one that fits width wise

how impossible would it be to score some leather prox 4x seats? i would love that upgrade too...
You can order them from the parts counter at your dealer. Hope you have deep pockets though. Like anything else automotive related it is better when you get the parts from the factory at the time of purchase.

I am on the hunt for more comfortable seating in the frontier. I have tried just about every seat cushion made on the stock seats and can't go longer than an hour without getting squirmy.

The pro 4x seats aren't anything to brag about. I've taken a few long trips (300+ miles) in the last couple years and I'm squirming after 40 minutes. Mainly lower/mid back.

Compared to my 13 VW Golf R, the pro 4x seats are like church pews. :) I wish I could find something like seats from a Maxima to fit.

At least the heaters are nice!

Yea, I'm not sure what the other Fronty seats are like but I wouldn't go out of my way for the pro4x seats. Going through all that trouble I'd find something else that fit. Newer pathfinder seats maybe?

Had a 2017 SV as a rental; worst seats in any car I've ever been in. Bought a 2012 SL w/ leather/heated seats and they're an improvement but hardly comfortable. Lower back an neck pain lead to headaches some days because you can't get your posture right.

There are three seats available for the Frontier.

#1 The cloth one way Adjustable seat bottom (has one adjuster wheel on the left side of the driver's side seat) that seems to come in the S and many SV models (those without the value package?) these seem to be the least comfy.

#2 The cloth two way adjustable seat bottom (has two adjuster wheels on the left side of the driver's side seat) this comes on Pro-4X and SL models. I like mine. comfy enough for 9 hour rides...

#3, the power leather. comes on Pro-4X's with the luxury package and I'm assuming SL's with leather. No idea on comfort.

I don’t see anyone speaking of how tall they are and how heavy they are

If you comment on a seat being comfy or not, it would help to know these things

I am 6’1 and 220 lbs, I find my 2017 cloth SV seats acceptable

Ah, good point. I'm 6'2" and 275. My seats are comfortable (even on a 5 hour drive which is the longest I've sat in them) but they are way too high up. My knees get in the way of my hands on the steering wheel even with it adjusted all the way up lol.

Ouch (the comment...and your back; hope it's better). It's funny how wide of a spectrum the opinions on seats are. I personally find the Frontier's seating position way better than the Tacoma I came from. The Tacoma seats are almost like sitting on the actual floor resulting in zero thigh support. Additionally, the seats in my 2011 SR5 Tacoma are the exact same seats you'll find in a 2002 LE (base) Camry. I noticed this recently when I was parked next to an older Camry and my initial thought was "no. effing. way". It still makes me laugh when I think about that level of component carry-over. Taking the seats from a decade-old appliance on wheels and plopping them in a non-base $25,000+ truck?! As a wise man once said, "I'm not even mad, I'm actually impressed".
