Is this even possible? I'm just curious because I've never read about anyone doing it on the newer style frontier. Just wondering if anyone has seen it and what the benefits would be.

there are some new Xterra that have been SASed. I'm dumping 30k in to my 05 so I can race it. So you can do anything just take time and/or money. but it would be alot easier to SAS and New fronter over a 1st gen because the axle drop it driver side. but then you have ABS lines to worry about but there are SASed titans that have fixed that.

i wouldn't bother sasing a 2nd gen unless i was doing full hydro steering with links. with enough skill and money, it can be done.
don't bother unless you have $8k minimum to burn.

it can be done for less then $8k, but if you have to ask why, then you don't have the skills/ability/equipment to do it yourself.

if you don't know the answer to this, why are you even interested in it?

Haha yes I know the benefits. Especially the flex benefits. I guess I ment to ask more of a pro's and con's type of thing. I've never driven one on road.

older toyotas are passenger side drop they all run chevy axles there a dime a dozen in any jy i have a hard time finding a driver drop around here

but driving a sas'd vehicle is def not as nice on the road plus if your gonna sas then you prolly got gears and the works prolly locked front and rear cause theres no point in sas unless your gonna wheel it then its really not street friendly :)

The reason I was looking into it is long term I would like my 4x2 a 4x4. If I sell to buy a 4x4 I'm going to buy lower miles and newer and will pay easily over 8k. So maybe just turn this into a 4x4 beast for the hills. I know the parts list for a SAS is pretty fricken huge.

I think it will be cheaper and less time consuming just to trade yours in for a 4x4.
this^^ plus, anytime you get into swapping axles, unless you are fully prepared for months of tweaking and getting it setup just right, you will have ride and handling issues for the remainder of it's existance. imo, people who SAS a vehicle from IFS should plan for it to only be driven on the road rarely. to and from an event? sure. out on the trails? of course. but not a daily driver. just be aware of that
