Thats my truck being towed by a Tundra. The towing was much appreciated as it save me about $800 being so far from home, but it was still hard to hook her up to the Toy. :(

tranny blew out, timing belt snapped, and bent 6 valves..can't say how. i had let someone borrow the vehicle the night before and she called me later telling me it just stopped...iv posted about it somewhere before, just thought i post up a pic of the tow.

lol, well luckily iv never had to be towed by a ford. this was a first for me. i have had to tow some Chevrolets with my fronty before tho.

Is the chick in the pic the one who 'borrowed' your Fronty?

If it makes you feel better, I have pulled the same ford twice. Once from the place it died to my cousins house, then a year later when he hadn't fixed it from his house to the junk yard.

Oh to be a fly on the headliner just before it "just quit". Have you checked out your dif yet? With the engine and tranny gone, I bet it isn't far behind. That sucks man!!

I'm sorry, that's tough man. I could almost picture your Frontier shaking with anger like Herbie the Love Bug as the Toyota backed up to it.
I have a feeling it's not the truck's fault. I don't think there's a vehicle in existence that didn't blow something after being lent out. That's why I never do it. Sure would be curious as to what she was doing with it to blow the power and drive-train simultaneously. That's quite a little coincidence.

haha, thats a great mental image. from what she said, she went to pull away from a stop sign, and it "shut off" when she told me this over the phone i first thought, ahh damn the timing belt snapped. so i replaced the timing belt my self, set the timing. went to turn it over and immediately noticed the sound of no compression. so it sat in a parking lot for 4 months due to lack of money, and then i finally got it to the shop where they found out i had 6 bent valves. so they rebuilt my heads and called me saying that they cranked it up, sounds great, but wont move...tanny is blown( i went to the shop and verified this of course.). reverse works great. but put it in Drive and it just revs. no drive shaft spin or anything.

Look at it like this tho...

right now, he is probably on the Tundra boards bragging about his first tow and how great the truck performed. How he barely felt that heavy quad cab truck and trailer back there.
