I've read that new cars now don't need rust proofing but I'm out in Hawaii with the salt air and cruizin' at the beach and was wondering if I should get it done, paint and underbody. Or will I be just wasting money? Any thoughts? My old S-10 had electronic rust proofing and the truck never had any rust the 10 years I've had it but my new Frontier doesn't even have that so I was kinda wondering if I should do it. Thanks.

i was thinking the same thing too, the dealer tried to sell me the electronic rustproofer, but i didn't bite. my brother fell for it though when he got his Titan, because he later found out that his friends could get one for a better price and better(?). my brothersaid he goin hook me up, but still waiting.....and waiting. soemthing like $75, but i dunno if that's a good price, never do research. thanks for bringin the topic up, probably going try get one this weekend, like you I live in Hawaii, and the salt air is nasty, especially when we go fishin.

I went through the same thing at the dealer. I think he quoted me something like $750 for the electronic rust proofing. I think I made a weird face cause he smiled and said it's ok if I don't want it. I was thinking of checking out lava lining cause I heard they do rust proofing. If it's not that expensive then I might go for it. Let me know if you get if done. Mahalos.
