Ok i have found that when I leave my headlights on and turn the truck off and take the key out the engine is still running. It only happens if the lights are on. If I then turn the lights off the truck will shut off. Anyone else have this happen? I've had it checked out once before but the dealer could not replicate the problem, but then i didn't realise it only happens with lights on. I'll be heading back there this week as we just got back from a camping trip, but figured I'd ask here before I can get it in. Better to know more when dealing with the dealers:smileyshell:

Sounds awfully strange to me, I've never heard of anyone having that problem with their truck. You should definitely make the dealer fix it for you.

Did you buy it used? Ive known some people to do weird things like that to replicate the "pit stop" feature of many remote start devices.

Probably has some relay rigged up to do it.

sounds like someone tapped in to your headlight power and crossed it with the ignition power.
exactly. i see this often when people add fog lights or even stereos.

I bought it used. It was a previous rental and I had the nissan dealer that i bought it from in the U.S. install day time runners to meet canadian standards. Hopefully they didn't screw something up.It's still under nissan warranty so i guess they can try to figure it out.
Thanks for the replies.

im willing to bet that right there is your problem. since the US doesnt require DRL's i bet they screwed something up since they arent use to it.

I had a 5th gen Maxima and had the same problem when I wired my fogs to come on without the headlights being on so I could run my amber corners and fogs without headlights. It really became a pain, so I decided it wasnt worth having my fogs on separately and I disconnected it. I found a write up of a way to wire the fogs near the relays to power them with the A/C relay... I'm not exactly sure how the wires were making that happen but as soon as I disconnected it, the problem went away. Hope this helps.
