Couldn't find this topic in search. I want to run wires from accessory fuse block into cab for a HAM radio. Has anyone run wires through the firewall into the cab or does anyone there is a capped opening in the right side of the console for another cig lighter or accessory, but it does not seem to have any direct channel to the engine compartment. I can also run it down from the engine compartment, under the cab and up through a grommeted hole into the cab, if I need to. Thanks,

Running Wires into Cab

OH right. I did that with antenna wire in another vehicle after noticing dampness where it had run along the antenna cable at the top of the door, DUH!. I had obviously forgotten that important principle of physics- water runs downhill. Thanks for the reminder, I'll do that and try to commit it to memory.

If you pull the PS fender liner there are a couple more plugs at the kick panel... if you don't want to route across the engine bay

Zero Six LE, this may be a dumb question but does the grommet that you ran your temp sensor through serve any purpose other than to fill a hole? I also want to use it to run some wiring between the engine compartment and cab and just want to make sure nothing is on the cab side before I start tearing things apart. My plan is to remove it and replace it with a grommet that is large enough for what I need. Thanks.

Just fills a hole. Probably used in some applications other than my truck or maybe not.

Good to know it can be done w/o drilling holes, thanks again.
There are quite a few advantages in drilling holes. Placement is the biggest advantage and not determined by where existing holes exists. Another is being able to choose the size of the hole and the grommet for the purpose intended.
Had to drill a lot of holes to accomadate all the electronics in the truck. Two gps( with outside antennaes )gauges, race radio, intercom, auxiliary switches for lights, Parker Pumper etc.
Photo is friend doing the wiring.
No way could this have this been done without drilling holes.
