I was under the truck last night (2009 pro4x) and noticed this solid rubber puck/ cylinder.
It's in the rear, close to the passenger rear leaf spring.
It's about 2" diameter and its mounted with 2 bolts to the same hanger mount holding the exhaust.

Can anyone tell me its purpose?
I will grab photos this afternoon if needed.
Thanks.

So when I put a new exhaust on, lop that thing off and call it a day???

That's up to you. If it were me personally, I would leave it on for now if it doesn't get in the way of the new exhaust just to see how it sounds. Then if you choose, you can remove it later. A lot of aftermarket exhausts have a tendency to create droning sounds inside the cab.

I honestly cant see how a random block of rubber hanging there makes any difference.
It seems like a weird thing..
Thanks for the info though!
