Have a stock 05 Nismo a/t, at start up the rpms are high for just a fraction of a sec, is it just me or is it normal for this truck..

sorry about the repost of this topic,,, Found the info after further seaching....

Normal, the ECU revs it high to quickly build oil pressure. I have a spectacular oil analysis from my last 7500 mile oil interval, so it's not causing any unusual engine wear.

Yea this was discussed on another thread. Its normal for the peak in the RPMs and then followed by the high idle to get the motor to operating temp. I think mine revs to roughly 2000 RPM then settles down

I noticed a drastic difference in the duration of this revving when I switched from Mobil1 to Royal Purple (4 sec vs. 2 sec, respectively).

my 07 pathfinder does it and my 08 frontier does not. Both have the same engine. Nobody can explain it.
