I have a 2005 CC NISMO with the roof rack and wonder if this will work for a 2010 CC PRO 4X that doesnt come with a rack. I ask this as the 2010 model I am considering purchasing doesnt have a roof rack and I dont want to special order the Moon roof package in order to get the roof rack. The thought I had was to remove the rack off my 2005 and install it on the 2010 model before I sell it. (I dont plan on trading)

what are you going to do about the holes left in the 05's roof? personally, i wouldnt buy a truck(or any car for that matter) with 16 holes in the roof. if you want the rack, order the truck with the rack OR try a salvage yard for one.

Good point. I didnt know what "footprint" would be left once removed and I thought I'd throw this question out.

thanks

Powerful UK makes an oem that uses rivnuts (Do a search a guy on here installed one). Its around $400 total to get on shipped to the US. Plus the one on the 05 has support bracing and stuff which you 2010 won't have.

I agree. I say just order the truck exactly as you want it. You will always be better off in the long run. Besides if you install the roofrack how many of the warranties will you void and what if it leaks??? Save your self the headache down the road just order tha truck with the roof rack.

Thanks all...will consider all options. I have Thule racks that I am currently using to carry my surfboards and paddle boards and may be able to live without a roof rack.
