I had to take my tow package off when I installed one. I changed my mind after installing it and driving around for a while.
The problems I ran into were; expensive to prep and paint, weakens the rear in the event of a rear end collision, weight reduced by removing 60 lb bumper and 30 pound tow package made the back end pop up in the air and, the handling suffered. Plus I had to climb on the tire to get in the back of the truck. After a while I took the pan off and put the bumper and tow package back on.
It would be great if there was a drop kit for our trucks. Then it would look and work well. IMO.
