so a couple weeks ago i got pulled over because my licence plate light was to bright :thatswck:
i got a new one and im using the old one plus 2 others for rock lights :)

im just waiting for the truck to dry off and ill be installing these under the truck , i will also be installing a 3 position switch for them (on-off-on )
ive already got the lights for up top wired in so what ill do is remove that switch , install the new switch and have it so the rock lights come on with the lights up top with the switch in the up position and in the down position only the rock lights will come on

Subscribed...white?
yeah white LED's , they are pretty bright so hopefully they will double as rock lights
Pics when this is done, I want to see what you come up with, thanks.

Been thinking about led puddle lights for exit and entrance into the truck.
All I'd really have to do is find some weather-proof led strips and tap into the dome lights (on my 2nd gen).

Check these guys out:
LEDs - underbody kits, cathodes, flexible LED strips, dome lights

^I tapped into the (blue)cargo light relay for my LED rock/dog sh*t lights, they'll run with the dash switch and are delayed with the doors they draw hardly any power so I only added a 5a. fuse into the mix.

add/edit:
Here's the pass. side Piaa Led DRL, it's tucked up between the frame and slider

That's a better idea than the dome lights, that way you can manually turn them on if you want.
Awesome, good to know, thanks dude.

so the idea i had for the switch wont work unless i use a spdt switch , so i used the 3 position switch as up for top lights /middle is off / down is rock lights

ill get some pics later tonight as well

i guess i should have noted where the other 2 lights are
they are on the inside of the frame around the middle of the truck opposite of each other
thats what I have on my license plate
i got pulled over for it and got a repair order written to replace it as a licence plate light , which is why they are rock lights now
i wonder how many lumens is legal in AZ and how would the officer know exactly what those are?

i like the rock lights idea - let us know if they are bright enough
his reason was because it emitted light instead of keepin it isolated to the licence plate , which is true the lights are bright and it did light up the ground under the truck
i thought i had video of me goin up a hill at night but dont know where it went
Penski, I went to AZ last weekend to help a friend move. What's up with those damn vans parked on the freeway taking pics of speeders?? Talk about big brother watching you lol
Can they bust you for all your offroad mods with once snap of a camera?
not sure they can do that , i dont speed so i dont worry about getting my picture taken by the vans:)

but yeah its bad , those vans are in between the stationary speed camera's , its beyond ridiculous
yeah for me.. the speeding gets me pulled over, not the light or other mods
nice setup!
the video couldnt really pick how bright they were but here ya go
