^Oh, but not that little canyon we tried driving through. :laugh:

I'd like to run Prozac west to east, so we'll plan on taking a somewhat direct route to the west side of the mountain range.
HMMMM.... so are we going to go through Nixon or head to Fernley and climb that hill we came down at sunset last time?

I guess my confusion comes from not knowing the area very well.....

Option B, more or less.

Don't worry about it. I sorta have a plan. You can just be along for the ride. ;)

I think I'm out for Sat:surprise: I'll try for Sunday::smile::
I sure hope you can still come to dinner sat night. Will your wife and kids be coming? I need to get a count for the reservation.

4. Kia Dude

Snow is expected over Donner Pass from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.

If any of you guys coming from California were planning on making the drive Saturday morning, you'll want to keep a VERY close eye on the forecast and may want to rethink your decision. It's normal for snowstorms to add anywhere from 1-3 hours to the drive over the Pass, and it's not uncommon for them to close it altogether in the event of whiteouts or spinouts. I hate to sound like a hard ***, but we have a very long trail planned for Saturday followed by dinner plans and we can't afford not to start on time.

I can't remember the last time I had to drive over the pass during a storm. I'm leaving the Bay Area sometime between 2 and 5... should be interesting when I reach snow level.

We still need to bring chains even if driving four wheel drive, right?

Does this mean we'll have fresh snow Sat and Sun?

Just about ready

The rig count has decreased to 7 or 8 rigs for each day. Life gets in the way sometimes.... See the first post for a detailed count.

Wolfman and I are heading over the summit tomorrow morning before the snow starts flying. The plan is to be at Cabela's by noon or so for some shopping and lunch.

Cold temp washer fluid is going to be needed for this weekend! Warm clothing, hats, gloves and boots will come in handy as well.

It is going to be so good to get on the trails with the group again as it has been too long......
