Day 2 pictures:

The drive up to Peavine wasn't technical, but the landscape was amazing. Something about the sparse vegetation and wide open sky made it feel like driving on a different planet...

The trail also started to become more technical and really fun as we passed through the forest. Unfortunately, this was about when I ran out of room in my camera. Glad that Mr_Scott was able to take some pictures of the rocky stuff. Thanks again to Jen for organizing this run. :ugogirl: Had a great time and met a lot of nice people. Can't wait to do it again next year!
Man I wish I could've stayed for this...

An example of the green tint is the photo captioned "Almost to the top..." - the grass to the sides of the trail are yellowish green, and so are the rocks, nearly indistinguishable from each other. Now if you scroll down two photos, captioned "Another, this time looking to the south", the grass is a warm brown, and the rocks greyish, providing good contrast between the two. I wonder if you changed your camera's settings for these two different shots? Most likely though may be Google Photo's problem, as the camera should be fairly consistent, while color-correction software may not be, depending on sophistication.

I've never found software enhancements to be better than my SLR's capabilities, even with a no-frills stock lens.

I think the color shift you're seeing is caused by shooting through the windshield. In some of the more green photos you can see the reflection of the dash.

Beautiful pics and trucks here, there are candidates here for both pic of the month and truck of the month.

You all also deserve about 5 parking tickets :)

Thanks for sharing guys/gals!

I was finally able to upload the pics, see link below

HLT 10-24-2015 Slideshow by pointman1029 | Photobucket

If any of them were taken by you, I apologize, I just downloaded everything I have on my phone...
Thanks pointmann! Now I get to reminisce about that day again!::grin:: When can we go wheel again?

Both these trails are covered in snow now.
We got a good amount of rain here in the Bay Area this morning. Washed off most of the mud on the under carriage! ::grin::

Lol, I especially made a quick run this morning in the downpour to wash off the crud underneath the truck; I think that the spray did a pretty good job.

I've never been to Prairie City OHV Park - would that be fun for our trucks? It's a drive, but heck, it's closer than Reno!

Oh man, I was hoping to lay low for awhile and wait for my rock sliders and skids to come in, but I can be easily convinced... I actually did some light wheeling near Big Sur over the weekend with the wife, coincidentally pathung did the same trail with his son, though we didn't run into each other. I posted pics in the forum below

What about Carnegie OHV? It's closer than Prarie City, I think it's near Jbum. Not sure how big it is compared to Prarie City though...

Prairie City only has a small handful of obstacles. Plus a 4x4 track for go fast stuff (or for mudding after it rains).

I haven't been to Carnegie in 5 years. Unless things have changed, it's not much better.

Frank Raines is a decent park. Similar setup to Hollister, just smaller.

Hollister Hills is the best park in northern/central California.

Reno has better trails than all of the above. :)

I'd do ANY at this point, not having been to any. Frank Raines does look like fun, though, with seemingly more varied terrain.
Trying to lay low the rest of the month, planning a trip to Reno Thanksgiving week and already have plans the next couple of weekends. Maybe December or January timeframe we can do a snow trip....
