Wondering if any of you have put in new head units yourself and if so how hard is it to get the old stereo out. I am thinking of putting in a Clarion unit with a built in GPS. I know crutchfield will send step by step directions to remove and install the unit but I found the same unit 240 dollars cheaper elsewhere which includes a rear camera. I have put in stereos years ago and pretty savy with electronics having rebuilt many computers.
Any tips one what to look out for would be appreciated

Go to the A/V section and review the top 2 sticky threads. The installs are from older models, but apply to 2009-2010 models as well. The break down is pretty much the same. With the proper dash kit from Metra, the install is pretty straight forward.

it real easy,do a quality job on the harness.make sure key is off until all is connected(disconnect neg terminal)the metra kits fit very good i have one in my 06 looks great.good luck
ditto.. take your time making all connections correctly, ziptie/velcro, i recommend the black metra dash kit.. I got gray, which i still like the dash kit, but the black one would have looked better to me, i think.. Get a trim tool! They are very cheap and worth it..

There are certainly some similarities, but there were pretty significant changes made to the dash in '09. Still very easy to take apart though. I only did the gps dock, but if you are interested you could take a look at my gallery which would give you the basic idea of taking it apart to get to the head unit.

Do not unplug airbag light ... mine needs to get reset every time I unplug it ...
I think this is only an issue if you turn the key while the light is unplugged... so the OP can unplug it if it makes it easier for him to get everything in/out. Also, its really easy to reset: turn the key 5 times without starting... or something like that. There are a couple threads on that as well if the OP needs them.

I have the black and it doesn't match perfectly either; but you can only tell in direct light if you look for it. I may paint it eventually or try to cover it in a black carbon fiber print (thats what my original part was and it looked good).
