Everywhere I look I read something different for required oils for the front and rear diffs, transfer case and manual transmission (6 speed)
I have 3 quarts of Redline MT85, GL-4 75w-85 that I had bought for the Xterra, I bought two more so my transmission is good. It's just finding the right oils for the diffs and transfer case. I give up on the search so I'm crawling into here. haha

Here's what my manual says for the 2016 (all apply to 6sp manual, 4x4 only):

Transfer case: Nissan Matic D ATF only (failure may void warranty)

Front Diff: Nissan Hypoid Diff oil Super GL-5, 80W-90, or equivalent conventional

Rear Diff: Nissan Diff oil Synthetic 75W-140 or API GL5 Synthetic Gear oil (also 75W-140)

Hope this helps.

Not to hijack this thread but I cant find a good place to post my experience:

In short all the oil mentioned about are correct - HOWEVER, I have owned a 2011 and 2012 Frontier with 6speed and 4x4. Both transfer cases (T-cases) were filled with gear oil. I refilled with GL-4 transmission gear oil.

Cheers,
