Recalls to fix Nissan brake pedals, gas gauges
(AP)

DETROIT — Nissan Motor Co. says it will recall about 260,000 pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and minivans in the U.S. to fix problems with brake pedals and fuel gauges.

The automaker says brake pedals on certain 2008 to 2010 Titan pickups and Armada SUVs and some 2008 and 2009 Quest minivans can come loose and cause reduced braking force.

No injuries or crashes have been reported. Customers with loose brake pedals should contact their dealer.

Nissan also is recalling certain 2005 to 2009 Armadas and Titans and some 2006 and 2008 Frontier pickups and Xterra and Pathfinder SUVs due to faulty gas gauges. The gauges can show a quarter tank of gas when it's actually empty.

Owners will be notified when to bring their vehicles in for repairs.

u think theyre fixing the gas guage or recalling sending unit?
06, well damn, that leaves me out from getting my gas gauge fixed for free.
Don't know why they're stopping at 06, my 05 has a bad gauge/sending unit and it is nothing new to Nissan because my 2000 Desert Runner had the SAME PROBLEM!! As well as my 04 4cyl.
I found some more information. Not including the 2005 sucks...

2006 and 2008 Frontier pickups and Xterra and Pathfinder SUVs due to faulty gas gauges. Due to a problem with a sensor inside the fuel tank, the gauges can show gas tanks a quarter full when they are in fact empty.

Nissan suggests keeping a half-tank of gas in the vehicles until the gauges can be repaired, eliminating the risk of running low on fuel.

Owners of vehicles in both recalls will be notified when to bring their cars and trucks in for repairs. In materials distributed to dealers, Nissan said the brake pedal recall begins on March 22, while the fuel-gauge recall will take place in two groups, one beginning March 22 and the other starting in April.

Call Nissan and demand very nicely to be included.

Hooray. How will I know when to take my truck in if I bought it used?

I imagine by your states registration Nissan culls owners addresses but you can call
1-800-nissan-1 to verify it.
Woooo....I have been putting off my purchase of a replacement fuel sending unit, and what do you know? Just called the service department...
I wonder if theyd give refunds for the people who had it fixed already (for parts if it was a DIY or the full amount if paid for labor)
good question red. i changed my sending unit myself. but it doesnt appear that 2007 is included. BS

Recall - Not sure if it's been posted...

Nissan recalls 540,000 vehicles over brakes and fuel gauges - Mar. 2, 2010

Seems like a fuel sending unit or something with the fuel gauge for 2nd Gen and also a break problem for others.
We have the recall for the brake pedal but no info on the fuel guage as of yet. Be patient & the recall notices will start going out soon. We inspected all of our instock units last night & didnt find a single problem. What we were told yesterday was that there have been no faulty brake pedals found in the US so far. I will keep yall updated as we get more info
Yeah it seem like the break "recall" are only for the larger vehicles.

I know people have had a lot of issues here with their fuel gauges and misreading the amount of fuel, etc.

I find a lot of these recalls mainly just to cover their *** and to be on the safe side...the problem may never occur in most vehicles.

Sorry I guess it has been posted.
