I am experiencing a lot of metallic clunking when I go over sharp bumps like railroad tracks for example. Depending on the severity of the bump the sound can be pretty loud/violent. I have a 1.5" shackle lift in the rear. I've looked under the truck while someone jumps up and down on the back and the noise appears to be coming from where the overload leaf is contacting the rest of the leaf pack towards the front of the spring.

Does this mean my leafs are pretty much worn out? I've only had the lift for about a year.

The rear leafs will squeak if they are not lubed.

Shackles also quicken the flattening of our leafs so they may be shot.

A quick solution may be a set of AALs or a hybrid Xterra/Frontier pack or a new set from PRG/Alcan.

Took a quick pic to better illustrate where the noise is emitted from when the overload leaf contacts the leaf above it. Obviously I dont know much about our rear suspension, so maybe the problem is that these two leafs contact one another and they shouldnt be. At any rate any advice/assistance anyone could offer me would be much appreciated.
