Is there a rear steel bumper out there with a tow hitch built into it? I just purchased a 2025 Frontier PRO-4X without the tow hitch... and do not want to spend $1200 at the dealership for this factory tow hitch. I currently came from the Xterra community of 20 years+ and pretty sure my 2015 Xterra tow hitch is not compatible with my truck but could be wrong. I did however have a HardCore OffRoad steel bumper with spare tire swing out carrier/ extra bar reinforcement and tow hitch built in. I have been searching the web and have come up empty unless these bumpers wrap around the factory hitch? I figured it makes more sense to purchase a bumper with one built in. Does anyone have any experience or insight on this? Thanks.

Here ya go. Bear in mind, this is quite a bit more pricey than the $1200 dealer tow hitch. But, it’s a steel bumper so it’s rock solid and will give you more departure angle as it seems you’re into the off-roading scene. Hope that helps!

My CJD rear bumper has a built in hitch, and while I have full confidence in its strength, know that most aftermarket bumpers are not rated for towing.

OE hitch is ~$320
Aftermarket hitch is ~$190

$1200 is crazy even if it includes installation.

OE Hitch is not a bad price for the time being... Reason I need one is for my mountain bike along with my son's bike. I would rather a steel bumper with the hitch incorporated in it.. but the swing out tire carrier looks noice!!! I have to sell all of my armor first from my Xterra so that I can transfer the funds to building the Fronty.

Oh, here’s another one! I kinda like this design as the hitch is accessed by flipping up the rear license plate. This should give you a little more departure angle. I haven’t purchased anything from Victory 4x4 so I can’t speak to any personal experience, but guys I’ve chat with have only said good things about them. As for CBI Off-road, I’ll vouch for their quality and customer service as top notch. I’ve got their full skid plate package including gas tank skid and a steel front bumper.

Happy shopping!

OE hitch is the only one that is class 4. ALL aftermarket ones are class 3. Although it doesn't really matter for towing as these trucks can't really out tow a class 3, but the 4 has more tongue rating which can be useful.

It does not surprise me that a dealer would charge ~$800 to install. They probably also include the wiring and installation of it.

I never noticed that about the aftermarket bumper/hitches! Glad you pointed that out. I wonder if that’s mainly related to the added weight of the bumper, which can contribute to the tongue weight. These aftermarket steel bumpers are built like a brick sh!tter so I don’t think it’s their strength and construction that is lacking. Not an expert though! These are just my own meandering thoughts 🤣
