I have a 2018 Frontier. The rear sliding window latch popped off the glass while I was attempting to open it today (it is bitter cold here). In order to put it back in place:

1. Do I need to first dissolve whatever adhesive was holding it in place and is still on the window? If so, what kind of solvent would you recommend?

2. What kind of glue/adhesive do you recommend I use to properly adhere it again?

Thank you

Yes dissolve it first. I would use only 2 products, 1 or the other not both.
I would try contact cement first and if that didn't work I would go to what will hold a semi truck hanging from a chain with this stuff inbetween.

scotch pad with lacquer thinner, do a test spot first to make sure it will not burn through.

Otherwise 100% alcohol

Thanks for the welcome and input from everyone. I tried mineral spirits and that didn't seem to touch it. It's whatever adhesive the factory would have used to initially install the latch. Will give the alcohol or lacquer thinner a try and if that doesn't work, I'll try the Goo Be Gone.
