This is turning out to be an oil thread. I think the use of Dino oil in the axle helps prevent leaking seals. On one of my cars I can not run syn engine oil or it will leak.

For the diff I run 140w syn. Unlike the transfer case which just needs anything in there to splash splash around to lube, the gear set of the rear diff sees alot of pressure on the teeth. The oil film on the surface helps reduce wear. There is alot of pressure in the contact point.

I'm just seeing the 80W-90 in the C200 and 75W-90 in the front, what a PITA. I'm due on mileage for my '12 and I now have to decide if everything gets one or the other or the correct weight in each.

I believe you have it backwards, 80-90 in the front. 75-90 is fine.
