Ok here's the question. If the stop secured by the ubolts is the bumpstop then what is the other stop for?

Distribution of energy across a wider cross section rather than a single point will reduce the pounds per square inch force the frame will receive. Also it is better to crush a bump stop that can be replaced rather than the frame itself.

Makes sense. I'm looking around at options for new stops. As you can tell from the photos I haven't put taller stops. I'm lifted 4 inches so I definitely need new ones

The upper bump stop is situated above the leaf spring clamp on my spring pack which prevents the clamp from contacting the frame. If it is any consolation, I have not upgraded the bump stops, and each time I have overloaded the bed, the worst that has happened is a blown rear shock.
