RCP run Pic Thread 7-17-10

Very hot and muggy. Had a great time though. Good to see some familiar faces and wheel with new people from the forum.

Motorcop75 did a great job leading the group.

We also got to tour the new "North Property". Alot different but cool in its own ways. We had a few simple recoveries and some trail carnage but nothing cold hard cash can't fix. My repair bill is looking like it will be upwards of the $500-700 range painted. I will be editing a video with a hill climb followed by a hard landing to go with my simple but expensive repair bill.

There's gonna be a bunch of pix. I have 30-40 I have to dump into Photo Bucket shortly. Other guys were taking pix too.

Here's my parts list:

Reinforcement bar ( steel bumper under plastic) $75.49
Bumper cover $209.23
My own paint estimate for cover $250.00
Lower Radiator support $130.45
Entire Rad support assy (if needed) $253.86
Front Cross Member (if needed) $77.14
Liscence plate bracket $16.33
Front Skid Plate $99.99

Total estimated repair bill minus Rad Support Assy, crossmember and my labor for install $781.15 plus shipping.

I also may need to have the front of my frame rails straightened. They are bent in a little.

OEM Price estimates compliments of Courtesy Nissan.

These last pix are at a hill climb in the new side. I believe its on trail N4 where it meets F and X1 near the entrance. Also where my trail carnage happened. 2 hills going up. Steep grade. The left sied was harder. You have to stop immediately when you get to the top or you will hit trees or go flying off the other side which is shorter and more steep. Just to the right of the two hills is an lower double hill opening to go around or come back to the open approach area.

After going up the hill and coming back around for the first time, I went over the smaller double whoopty a little too fast not knowing it drops off and comes right back up and over again. I nosed down between the two and smashed in my lower front end. I'm lucky my A/C condenser or radiator didn't crack when the rad support bent. The plastic hides the damage well. It could have been worse. I had a great time and hope to get back there as soon as I put my truck back together:laugh:.

^^Great day. As a side note, i'm looking at aftermarket bumpers now. Not crazy about dragging around the extra weight though.

Here's a Low-Fi vid of AVPlayer going up the hill shot from the top.

Thanks. After looking around at different designs, I'm gonna track down pricing for tubing. I may make my own. Not crazy about the pre runner look but I think I can make one with a simple design that flows with the body lines and add a winch plate. I can probably buy a winch with the $ i'll save by making it myself -VS- a full steel bumper.
I just cleaned my truck up today and got a good look at the damage. I'm lucky my AC condenser didn't crack open. The lower Radiator support really took a hit and that was only the 2nd time out with the front skid plate I made. If I only had the thin factory front plate on, my radiator would have been pushed back to the block for sure and I would have been making a call for a tow truck.

When are we goin' again ? Woot !!!!
