Radiator relocation after body lift removal?

3824 Views 16 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  the007forum
So I removed my 3" bodylift today and have ran into a slight snag. I have the body and bed back on the stock mounts and forgot underneath the hood. Poped the hood (thank god I didnt start it) and my radiator and fan shroud was all pushed up. I took of the extender brackets for the radiator and I cannot still get it back to the stock location or mounts. Any ideas?

Where is that? I just went outside and bolted my bed down and looked at it but cant come up with a fix. Is the bracket attached to the radiator? Does it connect to the core support?

Here is what I am looking at

IS THIS THE BRACKET? ONLY THING THAT DOESNT LOOK OE

Didn’t need 10 feet of up travel. Looked a little ridiculous to me... Going to lower some more. Here is how it sits.

i just put a body lift on my truck, your most likely gonna have to buy new mounts that run down the side of the radiator as i had to cut the bottom of mine off.
Damn Idle. Our trucks are twins for life. Im also taking my body lift off right now for the same reason and was wondering about this. Let me know what works out for you. What tires are you running? Im a little worried about mine making contact.
I agree with gristle.

Look at page 25.

Note to anyone that read this, you are better off not lowering the radiator.
:damn: This is the only thing I didnt do myself and the only thing I hate the way it was done. Wonder how I can get those brackets. I hope it isnt all part of the complete core support. Maybe I can get someone to fab something up? I hope this doesnt get into a too expensive repair.

Running 33x14.50's I can go another 3" lower before having a contact issue. Just on a titan swap/ac coils on the front and plenty of room to spare. :)

Ahh! That is also my story! The shop i went to was a nightware! With a beefed up Nissan truck nobody will know as well as we do. I was under the assumption lowering the cab and removing the radiator spacers would align everything back into the factory spot. Tomorrow i will figure something out. I can easily fabricate some stuff to get this sorted out for us.
A wide 33" is my back up plan (expensive one) if my 35 X 12.5 dont work. I already hit the cab pinch seam under the fenders at full turn.

Nothing wrong with a little cutting :). It will work.. you can make it. Is there a way to disconnect the fan motor? I think I can rig it up so I dont have to get it towed :(
the007forum, it's been a long time since you have post pic's here.

I was thinking the same thing myself. Post some pics to my "twin" :)
Why do you need towed? Can you not adjust your fan to sit in a spot and let you drive?

I have not been posting much lately... and its been way too damn cold to work on the truck. But it finally hit 40 so im startin up.Ive also been busy learning how to work CNC machines :). This spring summer some good stuff will start getting produced. Check this out for now:

Yeah that's why I was asking about the fan fuse. I can rig it but I don't want it to come on at all for the short trip to the shop. I don't want to break anything. Everything is plastic and expensive :) Truck looks great btw

Its cold as hell here. Suppose to snow tomorrow.
So uhhhhh. what did you end up doing? I finally got my *** going and took my lift off with the same story as you.Radiator is still lowered and i cant see why it wont go up!:comphead:

By the way. im going to have to cut into the front bulkhead in the fenders to be able to turn my tires.
Does your fan turn? That was the only prob I had due to the extended core support. I just took the fan shroud off :)

Now im getting a custom core support/radiator and different fan setup.

Hmm. Let me know about your new fan/radiator system when you get it put together. I can drive without the shroud but will smash the radiator in half on my first trip offroad.
