I am interested in getting some round aux lights and noticed the particular model I'm interested in has the option between 55w, 100w and 130w. It got me thinking, why would anyone choose anything but the 130w as it seems you would want to go as bright as you could. Is there any advantage to going to a 55w or 100w configuration?

55 watt are street legal I think.The 100 and 130 are for off road only. Some electrical systems might not be able to handle that much wattage.

if you select the 130w you would need to seriously consider the circuit design in
which you wire in the lights. you would also need to fabricate a supplemental
wiring harness with relays and fuse/breaker. then, double check your local laws
while driving on the public roads as you may need to have them covered.
