how does one do this. i now there is a chip but is there another way and is there any hp gain. thanks

This has been covered numerious times and you are completely off.

The handheld programmers can advance your timing 2deg (they are not chips so stop calling them chips). UpRev/Osirus can also do it for you with the aid of a laptop.

If you can get a dealer to hook you up, Consult II and III can do it. Also, some of the diagnostic tools at shops can do it but they are a hit and a miss.

There is a little gain but nothing insane. It mainly gives you some extra grunt and is worth it in the end.

ok witch program would i need from uprev the Osiris Flash Service or Osiris Standard

All you would need is Cipher for the 2deg bump. If you want an actual tune, then you need Osirus but I don't think they support the 2.5L yet.

For the bump, just call some dealers and see if any will do it for you. It should only cost 10-20 bucks total if not free.
