Year: 2000
Make: Nissan
Model: Frontier
Trim: ?
Color: Gray
Mods: There’s not much Nissan left.

Interior: Carbon fiber dash with Autometer procomp gages, race intercom and wired for race radio and gps. Beard seats, full interior cage and ventilation system.

Exterior: Fiberglass bedsides, hood and fenders. Front and rear bumpers tied into cage.

Drivetrain: Chevy 350 with a .30 overbore and a built th400 trans.

Suspension & tires: The front uses SLR boxed upper and lower control arms with 10in travel 2.5 SwayAway race runner shocks and SwayAway torsion bars. The rear uses Deaver springs and king 18in shocks. It sits on 33-11.50-15 Good year wrangler tires.

So this truck just kind of fell into my lap. I went into business with my father in law and a friend of his. All of us have been playing in the desert for years, but my father in laws friend, my now parter is a racer. He runs a trophy truck and a class 1 buggy. I am an automotive technician by trade so naturally we all spend time wrenching on the toys.

I go out to his back lot one day and just sitting there is this truck. It’s just wasting away, so I call dibs and we make a deal. It’s an old stock class truck, so the torsion bars and leaf springs stayed on the truck. However they got the most out of it for sure. After the truck was retired it had a Chevy 350 and th400 swapped into it, and the engine was pushed back about 10in.

My plan for the truck is a good clean up and some paint. Basically go through everything, make sure it is mechanically sound. Then I will take it out and see what it can do! Some likely upgrades will be front coilovers and nitrogen bump stops all around.

Not this year but last year he did, about 200 miles in the Trophy and the engine went south. I was not there, but we are doing the mint in March, he will be in the class 1. Just a small self funded effort, he has a few sponsors but it’s definitely a privateer operation, Hooker Racing.

Is it a Spec Trophy Truck? 6100 class?
Got a few friends who have them or building them.

It has a SCORE TT# but it must be a vintage TT.
It definitely is not a modern day Trophy truck.
This is my friend's 6100, spec TT.
I also posted photos of Matt's 6100 under construction in the off topic build thread.

That’s great. Your interior photo, reminded me I have to machine some pedals.

Many will disagree with you.
Need to install my DRO on my mill. Since detached retinas can’t read the dials.

I got some more backstory on the truck today. I was Introduced to the original owner and got to pick his brain. It was originally built by Infinite Fabrications, I need to research them I know nothing. They did all of the chassis work, It was then sent to Spencer Low racing. According to the original owner it was the first kit he ever made for a first gen frontier. It originally had a Nissan engine built by Burgess racing engines.

It’s just really cool to know the history behind the truck.
