I just brought back my truck to the STOCK setting then I rechecked the load by plugging my CORTEX back in and verifying the settings. When I was in the middle of Tune vehicle, my foot snagged the programmer and it unplugged. The fan came on and which I though was odd but when I went to start the truck it just turns over, no starting. What happened? What can I do to fix this? I've plugged the CORTEX in a couple of times and when it asks to turn on the ignition (which I do) it wont advance past this. Help!

Well, I seemed to have fixed it. I decided to see if I could reset the ECU by unplugging the battery. Once I did that, I got it started. Not sure what happened other than my fat foot getting in the way, but problem seems fixed....anyone have a technical answer to what happened?

sounds like it was in programming mode when your foot pulled the plug so maybe the code wasnt fully loaded. Resetting the ECU made it fully reload everything

you terminated the transfer of the programming by pulling the plug in the middle of the transfer. Its a quick and easy way to brick your truck if you keep at it. You were lucky this time, don't attempt it again.

I worry when I read stories like these. I just got a Cortex today and was outside changing it over to the 87 Performance tune. I think I held my breath the whole time, it went through smoothly. Truck drives a lot better, can't wait to try out the 91 performance tune.

I wouldnt get too worried, just be deliberate when tuning. I have had no issues up until this point and that was due to "fat foot" error. I corrected the problem by unplugging the battery which cleared the ECU memory. I called Superchips today just to confirm my erroneous actions and correction and they agreed.

After driving a year on the 91 Performance, I switched to the TOW yesterday just to play and I thought it performed better on the low end which is where I do most of my driving trafffic.
