pro4x- better suspension (billstiens), rear locker from factory, hill decent assist, factory spray in bed liner w/utilitrack, body matched painted bumpers (not sure LE may have that too not sure). but it fits my needs better than the options on an LE. i would have got a nismo or pro4x if i didn't get such a good deal on my SE. but i haul alot of junk, i wish i had that utilitrack and spray in bed liner all the time. my plastic one looks like hell. i've been in a pro4x off road on trails and it felt alot better than my SE did thanks to its bilstiens and the locker comes in handy. but its based on my needs and what i use a truck for. behind my driver seat is a mass of tow straps, ratchet straps, chains, tools, work boots and gloves. if you dont need utility then i wouldn't get one because the gears in it are just going to cost you fuel mileage.

well if you want an LE you can buy a pro4x and trade me! it all depends on what you want it for. If you want something that has a basic interior and rugged offroad then pro4x is for you. If you want something nice, and just need it for daily driving and to pick up chicks the LE works fine. If you want something to heavily modify SE's are a nice base.

if your picking a frontier you really cant go wrong!

Yeah I know it is broad but I was really just seeing what people would want if they had their choice. I wasn't talking about for any specific use but just for the pure enjoyment of owning one:) How does the Pro-4X ride on-road and isn't the interiors of both pretty much the sane if you get leather?

The Pro has some special stitching if you get leather.

The point that everyone is trying to get to is that you have to look at what you want the truck for. If you just want it for bragging rights then the Pro is that. You can talk it up and everyone will think it is cool. If you want it for function, then look at what you will be using it for and go from there. Todd pointed out the 6m issue. A CC Pro is Auto only and I think LEs are auto only so you are forced to an SE. If you want an auto but require a locker for wheeling then a Pro is your only option unless you are willing to plan an axle swap. Most choose to go with an SE to keep the cost down since they plan on modding it. Others choose the LE for the luxury items that are not cost effective to add to the SEs.

If you post up what you want your truck for we will have better suggestions for you.

Ok i understand sorry. I would be using it for just highway use and I am not even really looking to buy a new one. I have a 07 SE Crew Cab. I was just wondering what other people's preference would be but I understand that it really just depends on what you would use it for. Thanks

If you just drive it on the highway then the SE/LE 2wd CC or KC is your best option. If you go to the Pro, you will be paying more for items that you won't use.

This is what I meant for the thread to be like. Thanks Jordo for understanding. It was supposed to be like what would be your dream frontier? :)

That could open a whole new can of worms:

one that doesn't have fuel sending unit issues
one that doesn't have radiator/transmission cross contamination issues
one that doesn't have a weak front differential
one that has a rear axel vent that doesn't fail

and so on and on and on....

So between the 4x and the LE I would go 4x, because the truck isn't a cadillac so I don't see pursuing the luxury angle personally and I believe the 4x upgrades only enhance the frontiers' standard abilities of being a great wheeler.

I have an 06 Nismo myself and if I could do it over I would just get an SE. I've never been in a situation where I needed more ability than a 4 wheel SE would provide, I could have saved a lot of money, and anything I use the roofrack for (snowboards) murders the gas mileage so I just end up putting crap in the back. I do love my Nismo though so I really dont think you can lose with this truck in any trim

See, I understood the original intent. I was simply pointing out that even though it had turned into a "what kind of frontier do you need" it could also turn into an entire thread about the problems found in frontiers.

Now, with your permission, it can resume being the "If you could have either frontier what one would it be LE or Pro-4X?" thread.

Given the choice between Pro 4X or LE, I would purchase LE.

I wasn't aware that responses had to be run through the Jordo filter before being posted.

Like Mylt1 said, it's a really broad question. There is no right or wrong answer because everyone is going to use their truck differently. One look at this site will tell you that.

Look at how you drive and what you will use your truck for and choose appropriately. Hell, you already have a Frontier so you should know already.
