Alrite so i know a couple of guys are interested in the "discontinued" pre runner tire gates. So i called them yesterday and asked if anymore were in the warehouse and the guy said that they had one but two people wanted it already. So i asked him if the were planning on making more, and he said if i wanted one they would fab it for me and they wouldnt charge my credit card till it shipped. There charging 815$ which was the 4wheelparts asking price plus shipping. So if you want one call this number 877-945-2684.

I am currently in the process of getting a VT Tiregate from them. Would have had it already but the production guys screwed up and made a Pre-Runner instead. So now I'm expecting to have it delivered next Saturday. But yeah I got the same response when I contacted them. Basically said "we've got one left in stock...." and then I hear about it being out to the powdercoater and such. So I'm not sure what to beleive. They discontinued Frontier parts, but they seem perfectly able to take orders on a 1 at a time basis.

I'm less than impressed with their promptness/accuracy but I'm not on a particular time crunch to get my Tiregate. So I have been keeping tabs on them and calling every few days to make sure no more issues pop up. And the guy at Tiregate has been pretty good about trying to keep me happy. I'm paying like $0.99 for shipping and when he found out about the mix-up between the Pre-Runner and the VT, he knocked another $50 off the price.

It boils down to the fact I still think they make one hell of a quality product. So I will deal with a couple bumps in the process of getting it to me. I'm gonna try and do a picture intensive write-up of the install/initial impresions and then a follow up later in the year.

How are you paying so less for shipping? Because of the mixup?

@ Kamikaze:
I'm not entirely sure how I ended up with shipping being so cheap. I had e-mailed them trying to find out shipping because the price was a little steep for me and mentioned it in the e-mail. And their reply was that they would ship it for $0.99. So I kinda think it was pandering some because I had mentioned the price was already kind of high for me. But I don't know for sure. Then they knocked $50 off for the mix up. So when all is said and done, I paid $685.99 for the VT Tiregate. And add on the fact that I sold my tonneau cover and tailgate for a total of $400, I only paid $285.99 out of pocket. Not too shabby.

@ Army Frontier:
Like nismo05 said, it would kill the bedspace to have the utilitrac tire carrier. And that is a priority for me, not to lose the bedspace.

Im betting the extra cost of the gate itself is because it is a PR gate. Ill see if i can get a little better shipping. But i just got 3 G's back in taxes so im goin for it.

So you're going for the Pre-Runner Gate? Well since they made one for me by mistake, I would hazzard to guess that it's ready to ship right now. Hell, at the rate you could get yours before I get mine and I ordered mine in early Jan! Ha.
