You shouldn't have cut the gasket! 8O It appears to be too big when you first try and fit it in the groove, but it does fit, you have to work it in by pushing straight down on the gasket and work it in pushing in on opposite sides as you work around the groove. Kind of like when you tighten the lug nuts on your wheels, do sides then top and bottom, then in between. If you try and run your finger around the gasket to push it into the groove you'll end up with a good bit sticking out. It does whistle as it works, but I'd be concerned the whistleing you hear may be air leaking past the gasket! :? Do you hear the whistle as the truck is idleing? You shouldn't! I'd call AirAid and see if they can send you another gasket. They have super customer service, Since I've had my CAI I've contacted them twice, once because the original hose clamp didn't seem to fit right and a second time because the MAF Adapter warped and the rubber lip on the filter ripped. Turns out that could have been cause by me tightening the hose clamp to much, but AirAid sent out a new MAF Adapter and Filter, no questions asked! I bet if you told them what happened, they've have a new gasket in the mail to you today! :D

I didn't hear much of a whistle after I installed mine? The gasket I had actually needed a bit of strecthing to get it on correctly. 05NISMO4X4 is right, you shouldn't have to cut the gasket at all, and with the customer service he has experienced you should have no problem getting another gasket from Airaid.

I only hear the whistle under hard acceleration, and only when the radio is off!

just wondering?

i was thinking about ordering the TBS but cant decide if it's really worth it, with the injection the way it is, is it really going to make any difference? i've been trying to read up on this but just cant seem to find any true answer. what do you guys that have them think?

From what I hear It does not make more horsepower, but i manages the horsepower in your engine better. It helps in low to mid range power bands, especially on take off and anything under 40 mph. Hope this helps!

I like it. It won't give you any more HP, and I haven't had my truck on a dyno to see if it made a difference there either. I do notice a bit more kick as I merge onto the highway, and it seems easier to scratch the rear tires (even when I'm not trying to), so I can say I have notice a change in the way my truck performs. It may not increase the amount of torque the engine produces, but it may shift the torque curve enough to where the effects are noticable at a lower rpm.

As for gas mileage, it's hard to say. I installed the Banks exhaust, then the CAI, then the TBS, then removed the exhaust and went back to the stock exhaust. Gas milage was at it's worst with the CAI and Banks Exhaust (15.6mpg). It increased a little (only about .2 mpg) after I installed the TBS, but since removing the Banks exhaust and returning to the stock exhaust, it increased 2 mpg (I'm getting 17.8 mpg now)!

I'm still researching aftermarket exhaust, and right now I'm waiting for the JBA system to be released. It's the closest to what my research tells me will be optimal for our trucks. If so, it should also help with gas mileage as well.
