Power Window Repair

I noticed that the power window switch can fail due to corrosion between the contacts.

If your power windows do not operate properly, use a DMM to measure voltage at the power window motor terminals to see if you are getting +12V (-12V) in both up and down positions of the switch.

If not, then I would take the switch apart and clean the contacts. I already have done this on two different Frontiers (2005 and 2007). I assume the original owner left the window down while it rained onto the window switch.

If you do get +12V (-12V) when operating the switch in both up and down positions (and the motor does not move), then your motor needs to be rebuilt/cleaned/replaced.

I rebuilt two window motors (one driver front, the other driver rear). I opted to replace the brushes
