just wondering if anyone has completed a sec. gen xe swap from manual to power windows/locks. if so how much was it and what parts are involved? thanks

I did door locks on a 1st gen, it's cheaper to go aftermarket rather than oem. And if the 2nd gens are like the 1st gens, you don't have the wiring in the doors for the windows or door locks.

If you are going oem, you'll need, window regs, door card with switches, wiring harness, door actuators. If you want remote door locks you'll also need whatever goes along with that.

Aftermarket, buy a kit from SPAL for the windows, buy a door lock kit on ebay. REMOTE POWER DOOR LOCK Kit on eBay
I bought that kit and it's worked well so far.

Keep in mind that the door locks on 2nd gen Frontiers are cable operated. You can either cut the outer part of the cable and install the brackets to hold the cable in place or there is a thread on here somewhere about another approach.

I'd say the best way to do this would be buy the factory parts and install the factory motor components. Next best thing would be aftermarket stuff, which will involve a little more creativity on mounting and such, like Frumper said, the cable locks are not going to be fun since you'll have to cut the outer tube and cabling and clamp onto the cable inside.

i did this almost a year ago with factory parts and a custom wiring harness. it wasn't cheap, but i think the hardest part was the harness and i have the diagram (i think it is called a schematic) if it helps any one. i think it was worth it.

its been close to 2 yrs ago so it's hard to remember, i got everything but the door harnesses off ebay and i think it was close to 400 dollars, i would have gotten the harnesses out of the same wrecked truck, but i didn't think to ask for them.
