Power Steering Problems. Need Help

I have a 2002 2wd 4 banger and my power steering works turning right but doesn't turning left. I have jacked the front up and turned lock to lock seeing if it was air but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info. This has been about to drive me nuts. And I'm assuming you're referring to the lower shaft that connects at the linkage to the gear box?
